So far this is the number one album out on my list. Of course we all know the class ?uestlove fro and band, but over the years they had experimented on different sounds. with this album they are back to their roots, giving a 110% percent to the save hip pop movement. The only thing that I don't like about this album is that their could of been a little more bang for buck (tracks), but it's absolute buy.

You should always have a legitimate reason for loving somebody and the reason may be hard to understand but it would not be superficial. Be in love with the basics friendship, trust, honor, respect and admiration always share the truth... having the truth is better than hearing a lie because the truth is not questionable.

Some people just don't want to let go of old things. At least that's how I viewed it. Some guys (it's not only guys) tend to get mad at a girl for having another guy. Why do guys get mad when they either didn't make a move or they left the girl?? I thought that once it was over, it was over but now it seems like every time you move on they try to pull you back in. So first point why do guys get jealous when they didn't make a move? Well the gents say that it was doubts and they missed their chance. "Maybe he wasn't too sure of himself, then he saw someone else step up and he punked out." Jealous because they punked out? Sounds like a personal problem to me. You just "got up the courage" and then you lost your chance you must have took to long. Of course that is not the problem for all. The other things is that once a dude has been in a relationship with you, you are off limits to everybody else even if it's his friends, family or people he doesn't even know. So basically "once mine... always."It usually happens like that even if they deny it and even if they have a new girlfriend or whatever. So that makes me wonder... when does he get over it? If he's still jealous even though he already has someone else then what does he need to get over it. I believe that is a more "out of sight, out of mind" thing. Although it doesn't always happen that way. You leave one person, find a new person, then you see your old flame moving on so you get jealous, then you get distracted and then you don't hear from nor think about your ex... right? Seems as if you are mad without a cause, or maybe I just don't get it...

Everytime I cut on my Zune I hear a song by Pac Div. They definitely have a top spot on my favorite artists. If you haven't downloaded Don't Mention It, I suggest you do now. That is... if you're a hip hop fan. It came out around April 27th yet the rhymes are timeless. Trust me. If you don't know about Pac Div look em up! They are a group of three members: the brothers Like and Mibbs and their longtime friend Be Young part of the New West movement of California. This is not the typical jerking music we usually hear from Cali nowadays, they have a classic [hip hop] feel with their own little spark to it.

A True Lyricist

Rhymes penetrate the minds of little ones. I never really knew what that meant, but know I know. When lyrics are spit, it's like a open portal to what they see. Many of us can't figure what's fining on and assume they are crazy. No what musicians produce, can be far beyond.

What you find is maybe something to brag about, or a inspirational message that that slashes to the heart. This is what a true lyricist does. They get their message out with clever punchlines, riding their beats with careful expressions. What they leave for you is your interpretation on how to take it.

In hip pop lately there has been a breakdown on lyrics and and frankly character. Last post I talked about culture, something that is always effected by words. Just listen to sugarhill gang and Lil Wayne. Different isn't it?

What happened to stories about playing ball at the park, how I'll your flow is, or even the non-beef rap battles? In all honesty I say hip pop is on it's last legs....

I'm Really Happy For You

People always say you act different when you get into a relationship but can you really expect for nothing to change? The thing is that when you're in a relationship you have other obligations and you center around a certain person to aside from the rest. You can't possibly be exactly the same. I hate it when my close friends get into a relationship because then I'm just left alone without my usual companion or I'm the third wheel in their relationship. Being left alone is the worst because then you have no where to turn to. Your friend who used to spend the most time with you is now barely seen with you any longer. Makes you feel like you're old news, like you just get dropped like yesterday's newspaper and that's a problem you would have to deal with yourself because you friend has other priorities. Another problem is feeling like you're the third wheel. You're friends still want you around, to kind of show you that they haven't changed but that doesn't work. You just feel like leaving because you're out of place, like you're not wanted. Another downside of your friend being in a relationship was that you can feel used. You always have time for your friend and they always had time for you, now they only talk to you when they have a problem. That's not fair to me and ultimately ends up tearing me apart on the inside. I'll admit, I'm not jealous. I'm glad you have someone. Seriously, I'll miss the times when we were the main focus of our lives but now I guess we have to push that aside for someone else... I'm really happy for you.

ATTENTION ! ATTENTION! I believe I have finally heard one the worst female rappers ever. Yes, I had given this title to Nicki Minaj but I am now pulling the rope on that. The lucky woman to claim this title is Lola Monroe. Gorgeous, yes. Rapper, she shouldnt be. I wish that these women who obviously look great would stay away from the rap game and model or something. I'd rather see her as the president. Now, give me these two ladies, a bottle of Ciroc, and some Luther Vandross and we can make it happen.

What up peoples?! this is Kentucky Fried, a new addition to the Ladies & Gents blog. Getting right into it here is a recent post from my many saved in my ipod.

Love and music. Everybody listens to what they like. Jazzy tones or a hard slammin' guitar, it all serves one purpose . The music is the fundamental art that displays everything bout our lives. We as people don't realize this.

The music today is something even god couldn't explain. It has been turned into hate and tolerance. Artist have filled the music with all this junk that tarnishes it's classy background. Losing it's touch, people are responding to it with crime, saggy britches and disrespect for women.  Not to say all of the time, but more frequently.

Now an occasional song about girls and cars, can be quite nice. Every once in a while. People are suppose to listen and take a lesson from what they say. They can even flaunt a bit too. Still it is leaving an impression on how we live our lives. In recent times, coming from Louisville the crime has skyrocketed to having at least one shootout every week. Then guess their favorite artist. Yes it's
One that talks about sex, money and clothes.

Now the look of an average man has gone way down too.  We spend huge amounts of money on useless things. Now new shoes are lovely, but spending a 100+ on some shoes..... No buddy you are sadly caught in the game of looking good. Jordan sells at least 40 million dollars a year just on selling sneakers. It's a shame, but people will keep spending......

So I woke up this morning to someone playing Ron Artest new song Champions... -__- "They say we warriors." Well I am a Lakers fan but most definitely not a fan of that song at all. I don't understand why athletes think they are rappers. I was thinking you already have one half of the dream why aren't you satisfied?? Everything about the song kind of gets to me. Whoever is singing the hook, I would like to tell them that they are the very reason why this song will never be on my playlist. As I was wondering what the heaven Artest was doing with that monstrosity, I thought about the Hyperizers commercial that DJ Quik did with those basketball players. To me, that track was so bomb. It was infectious, made me wanna go cop some of them even though I was not a fan of the sneakers! It had Andre Iguodala from the Philadelphia 76ers as Chief Blocka, Mo Williams from the Cleveland Cavaliers as Fog Raw, Kevin Durant from the Oklahoma City Thunders as Velvet Hoop, and Rashard Lewis from the Orlando Magics as Ice-O. When this commercial was on tv I watched it so many times that I knew all the words! It was hilarious but nicely done. Definitely a fan of them. Each verse just flowed and there characters were too cool but at the same time humorous. Back in the Day all the boys I knew wanted to be in the NBA or be a rap star, if you did one of those things you didn't do the other. If you're already in the NBA don't start rapping. You're "rap career" will be short lived trust me, I don't care how dope you are. Do I need to bring up Shaq Diesel... didn't think so. There are plenty of other athletes that should not be rapping also therefore Ron Artest needs to stick to basketball... But they Hyperizers did it well so I applaud them and DJ Quik.

Been Up All Night...

Stayed up so long that I'm not even tired anymore. Man I hate when this happens. I start getting restless... going from laptop to XBOX, XBOX to MPC, MPC back to my laptop. There's barely anything on TV worth watching. 50 million infomercials and commercials about Viagra and yeast infections. GROSS! Can't even enjoy my breakfast now. *throws out chicken biscuit* I'm done! In the meantime I'll just bump to this...

Barbies, eh??

I know this has been around for some time now, but this "Barbie" thing is just not happening. From the talk, to the dress and beyond ... this is not what's "POPPING-TON/TING." I am not hating on Ms. Minaj's style, or whatever we shall call it, but I feel that over 300,000 girls ( and guys, :\ ) following one person's style just doesnt make sense. I think what bothers me the most about Nicki Minaj, is going to have to be a cross between her British accents she likes to use, and those HORRIBLE colored wigs. I like to call it a little over the edge.. ridiculous. Hmmm, I dont know. Maybe it's just me.. I highly doubt it.

Same Cast, Same Stories, Different Titles

I'm sure we all know those movies with the all black cast telling stories about long time friends falling in love and living happily ever after... my question is what happens after that?? Those movies are filled with so many problems and issues. They show the exact examples of what can go on in a relationship and what can go wrong in the movie itself. Do they really expect me to believe that the long time friends who end up together actually will stay together, after all the shit I just witnessed in the movie??!! Hell naw. I'll pass on that one. I'm pretty sure inquiring minds want to know do they stay together or don't they because I have reason to believe it is the latter of the two. My other question would be why does it always take that long for the couple to get together? They've been friends since the beginning of time! How long does it take to realize you love somebody? My last question would be does this happen in real life? Usually people say "That stuff only happens in the movies" but does this happen in real life? I have too many questions left unanswered after I watch those movies, what happens when the smoke and cameras disappear??

Yo! I did have something to say but never mind now. What time is it? I looked at the clock but time wasn't frozen it was spiraling out of control. I wanted to stand up but I couldn't because I was so drunk--emotionally and I didn't want to fall. Not a good look at all. Why do I feel like I am Atlas. The whole world is on my back or is this an illusion? Why do I have to carry so much and it seems as if everyone has it easier. I give thanks all the time because I know that I am blessed to have what all I have now but I only realize how blessed I am when I compare myself to someone else. If there were no comparison then I would just be in my own mind, beating myself up at all the misfortune thrown upon me. It's hard to keep your emotions in check when you had some much pressure on you in the first place.

Insomnia Vol.1: Acknowledgement

Sometimes you feel like there just aren't enough hours in the day... you try to squeeze everything you need to do into the little daylight you have but it just adds more work to the next day. I used to stay up for school, pulling all-nighters to finish homework and stuff but now it's the summertime. NO HOMEWORK!! So I have no logical reason to stay awake. The problem is that I can't sleep. I developed a case of insomnia. Insomnia is when you cannot sleep for various reasons. I was up for days at an end, not even tired. Well, I was tired just not sleepy at all. I tried to lay down like everybody else did. I ended up laying in the bed for hours staring at the ceiling. I tried to do anything and everything to fall asleep like I normally did but nothing worked. My fam actually thought that I was staying up late on purpose. SMH No I was not. I even tried sleeping pills. I advise others not to take pills, they really don't do anything at all. I admit I did feel refreshed in the morning but it took me 4 hours to get to sleep and I only slept for 3 hours... so not worth it. The point I'm trying to make here at this moment in time is don't take the easy way out. Acknowledge the problem soon so you can figure out a solution sooner.

Making or Breaking

If it's not one thing, it's another right?? Everyone always has something that just ruined their day but rarely do they have things that make their day. I don't really think this applies to me because I am rarely happy but looking around I noticed this. I have more friends [and I used that word loosely] that are upset and depressed than I have friends that are happy and blessed to experience another day. I understand there are downs but there are ups also. You only are what you choose to be. You can make yourself happy or unconsciously make yourself sad, the only problem is if you choose to stay that way. Are you honesty telling me that you don't have a clue of how to do what's best for you??
